Concrete Tank Inspections

"The inspection should be performed under the direction of a professional engineer thoroughly familiar with wire- or strand-wound prestressed tanks and their construction."
- ANSI/AWWA Standard D110-04 Wire- and Strand- Wound, Circular, Prestressed Concrete Water Tanks "Sec. 6.4 Inspection During Routine Maintenance"

CECS can provide a wide variety of inspection services to meet your needs, from an "engineering recommendation" from a competent source to a complete structural analysis, including concrete coring and a complete detailed report signed and sealed by a Professional Engineer. Accurate cost estimates of the repair or retrofit will be provided upon request.

Dry Inspections
A supervisor observes a dry inspection from outside of tank to conform to "Confined Space Standards".
"Dry" internal inspections are recommended by AWWA Standard (D110) to insure that your tank is kept in a structurally sound condition and complies with all current standards. Our inspections follow the guideline of the "EPA Ground Water Rule - Sanitary Survey" to make sure your plant is ready for the mandated State Inspections. "Dry" inspections require a tank drawdown and removal of any accumulated solids to expose the concrete floor. This enables our crews to complete a thorough analysis of the entire structure. CECS is well equipped to provide the efficient removal and disposal of this build-up while complying with all safety and environmental regulations.

Wet inspections by a licensed commercial diver provide a means of observing the tank without taking it out of service for an extended period of time. The diver is outfitted with real time communication equipment that allows both visual and audible contact between the diver and the inspector. A video tape of the session is made available to the owner.
