Inspection Requirements by States

"A wire- or strand-wound prestressed tank should be inspected after the first year of service". . .and "routinely every 5 to 10 years following the initial inspection."

Alabama "All public water systems are to have their water storage tanks inspected at regular intervals."

Florida "Finished-drinking-water storage tanks. . . shall be cleaned at least once every five years. . . and shall be inspected for structural and coating integrity at least once every five years by personnel under the responsible charge of a professional engineer licensed in Florida."

Tennessee "Community Water Systems shall have a professional inspection performed and a written report produced on each of their finished water and distribution storage tanks at least once every five years. Non-community water systems shall have a professional inspection and written report performed on each of their atmospheric pressure finished water and distribution storage tanks no less frequently than every five years."
